Thinking about getting custom embroidered gear? Awesome. Whether it’s for your company's new uniforms, a one-of-a-kind gift, or a team event, you’ve probably got a few questions. And that’s what we’re here for!
At K&K Embroidery and Gifts, we believe in being upfront and making this whole process a breeze. So, we put together this guide to tackle the most common questions we hear every day. Let’s dive in.
This is usually the first thing on everyone's mind. The cost of your project is all about two things: the complexity of your design and how many stitches it needs.
Think of it like this: The initial setup cost is tied to the time and skill it takes to "digitize" your artwork. A super detailed, intricate logo can be a real challenge, even if it’s small. Our experts spend hours getting every tiny detail perfect. After that, the per-piece cost is based on the final stitch count and, of course, the size of your order. The more items you order, the better the value you get.
Nope, you don't! We’re happy to handle orders for as little as just one piece. It’s perfect for a personal project or to check out the quality before a big order. But, a heads-up: a single item can be quite expensive. That's because the one-time digitizing fee still applies, making that first piece a big investment. For the best bang for your buck, a larger order is always the way to go.
This is where the magic happens—and it's a labor of love. Digitizing is how we translate your artwork into a language our embroidery machines can understand. Our team manually programs every single stitch, color change, and detail to ensure your design is perfect.
Here’s the thing: this can’t be done by a computer automatically. It takes a skilled human eye to map out every single thread. This meticulous process is what guarantees a high-quality, professional finish.
Your timeline depends on what you're having done and how busy our studio is. Most projects are ready in about 7 to 14 working days, but for a super intricate design or a really large order, it can definitely take longer. We'll give you a precise timeline once we know the details of your project.
We get this question all the time! To make sure we deliver the best quality every time, we don’t embroider on finished items that customers supply. This helps us control the process from start to finish. The only exception is for pre-cut fabric, but that comes with a minimum order requirement. When you choose us, you’re getting a full service—the item and the perfect embroidery.
The good news is that we have a wide range of high-quality items ready for your custom design, including:
For the sharpest results, we prefer a high-resolution vector file (like AI, EPS, or PDF). It’s perfect because we can scale it without any loss of quality. If you don’t have one, no worries! We can also work with high-quality JPEG or PNG files, but they need to be at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
To get your project rolling, we require full payment upon confirmation. This allows us to start the digitizing and production process right away. For our GEBiz customers, we can make different arrangements, but for all other orders, full payment is the standard.
To keep your new custom gear looking great, here’s a quick tip: wash it inside out in cold water on a gentle cycle. Air drying is best, but a low-heat tumble dry works too. And please, no bleach!
We hope this helps clear things up and gets you excited about your project! Got an idea? We’re ready to hear it. Contact K&K Embroidery and Gifts today to get a quote and let's get started!
